Concrete, 2012-14

Concrete is a series of photographs taken between 2012 and 2014 in Baroda, of structures that I came across while out cycling. These spaces, like dreams of future ruins- devoid of any human presence, resemble cityscapes, and left me wondering if they had been abandoned, or had turned to ruins even before they could be occupied.

Moving through this labyrinth of concrete, silence flows through every corner and curve, and there is a sense of archeological discovery as these pictures shift between representation and abstraction, inviting the viewer to reflect on architectural elements that are at once familiar and alien.
